Xenoestrogens are a type of environmental hormone that imitates estrogen, the female sex hormone. Both synthetic and natural xenoestrogens are ubiquitous in modern life and both of them fuck up your hormones.
We are bombarded by these toxins in modern life. Both men and women can influence their hormone levels by eliminating artificial estrogens from their daily lives.
This is important because these toxins have an impact on our overall health. They impact cancer rates, obesity, infertility, metabolic syndrome and allergies.
The problem with excess artificial estrogen is it’s subtle. You don’t notice it right away. It causes modifications and functionally alters your dna in the long term.
The sheer doses that we’re exposed to are no joke, and pretty difficult to avoid as well. Don’t think is simple to find and eliminate all the sources of xenoestrogen in your life.
We have to accept the manufacturers don’t care. They just follow the law and for the rest it’s simply the cost-benefit for them. Like in the foods industry, they don’t care about your health.
Some environmental estrogens are beyond our control, like air fresheners in shops and some plastic and foods is unavoidable. The best you can hope for is to reduce your total estrogen burden. Awareness is the first step and that’s what this article is for.
In this article I’m composing an extended lists of things to avoid in life, without it being a big impingement on it. Get ready for the greatest via negativa of all times.
This topic might be next level for you if you donāt have your diet, sleep and exercise in check yet. Iād advise to focus on those things first.
The low hanging fruits are tap water, cleaning agents, clothing, beer and soy, and making sure to have a healthy body fat percentage.
The list is endless, so I categorized it for you:
Body fat
The first isn’t a xenoestrogen but is the most important factor to consider. Body fat is highly estrogenic. The higher your body fat percentage, the worse your hormones balance and metabolism get.
Body fat percentage isn’t a vanity metric but a health metric. Men should aim for 10-14% body fat, women for 20-24%.
Waist:height ratio is one of the best indicators of your metabolic health. Measure waist at your navel and divide it by your height. If the result is below 0,5 you’re doing fine, otherwise you should start losing body fat.

One of the reasons body fat is so bad for you is because it synthesizes estrogen, increases cortisol and blocks testosterone production. Men who have excess fat will often have as high estrogen levels as females as they get older.
Household products
Carpets: Always wear socks in the house. Cotton socks of course.
Shower water:Ā Buy a water filter.
Candles: Use beeswax candles.
Food packages: Never store food in plastic, especially when it’s hot.
Cookware: Plastics have absolutely no place in a kitchen. You stainless or cast irons skillets and pots, wooden or metal tools like cutting boards, spatulas and storage containers.
Plant foods
Since plants can’t run away from predators they have created chemical mechanisms to defend themselves.
Plants donāt want to be eaten. They simply want to survive. One of the ways they defend themselves against hungry animals like us is by producing toxic chemical compounds. If we eat to much of those toxins, we’ll get inflammation problems that turns into auto immune diseases.
Plants are not on this earth to feed us and they donāt give up their nutrition very easily to us. Even though a lot of them has wonderful nutritional qualities, the majority of that nutrition is not available to us due to toxins. This is called bioavailability.
It’s better to avoid eating shitloads of the following foods.
Heating foods in plastic is the big one to avoid.
Plastics are the last thing we should pack foods in, yet everything is packed in plastics.
Tap water: Our water sanitation system is great for eliminating bacteria but not so good for breaking down estrogen. Because of estrogens leaching into the water supply over time these concentrations build up and there is no way for them to get cleared out. Getting a non-plastic water filter is the less worse option.
Soy: Never eat it. Only the fermented soy products such as tempeh occassionally.
Beer:Ā The less masculine drink available because of the amount of estrogens it contains. Fully skip alcohol, or drink red wine occassionally.
Flax seeds:
