Googling simple questions takes less time than it takes another person to answer it. Yet, I wonder why a lot of people prefer the latter.
This is a special post for those who think their time is more valuable than yours. From now on, you can refer them to this link.
You probably know these kind of people, as they are a pain in the ass to chat with. They immediately ask the simplest things on autopilot, without even thinking about googling it themselves.
I like to call them lazy conversationalists.
We’ve failed to realize that avoiding suffering makes us end up suffering more. The lazy conversationalist is a result of that.
Every single time you use Google, you are investing in yourself. Rather than immediately asking others for the answer, you search for the answer yourself.
This is a great metaphor for life.
It may take longer to find things out yourself. But without pain, there is no growth. Without growth, there is no fulfillment. Without fulfillment, there is no happiness in the long run.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about helping out seniors that have problems to properly use a computer, or companies that hire others to manage certain things for them because they want to focus on their core business.
I even made a business out of fixing websites for businesses by googling the right solutions.
No, I’m talking about young people here. Young people with simple questions.
By asking others, you aren’t conditioning the mindset of a doer whatsoever. You are conditioning the mindset of a lazy person.
So, before you ask someone to favor their time to answer a question, always try if a simple Google search can solve it.
The ability to ask the right questions in life compounds big time. Especially when you’re adept in googling with the right keywords.
